(The Swamp) --

December 31, 2010
More phunnies from my email stack.   I laughed so hard, I think I hurt myself.   Happy New Year!

"Dear Mrs., Ms., or Sir:

I'm in the process of renewing my passport and still cannot believe this.

How is it that Radio Shack has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a cable TV from them in 1987 (23 years ago), and yet, the Federal Government is still asking me where I was born and on what date?

For gosh sakes, do you guys do this by hand?   Ever heard of computers?

My birth date you have in my social security file.   It's on EVERY income tax form I've filed for the past 30 years.   It's on my Medicare health insurance card and my driver's license.   It's on the last eight damn passports I've had.   It's on every stupid customs declaration form I've had to fill out before being allowed off the plane for the last 30 years.   And it's on all those census forms that we have to fill out every ten years!

Would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother's name is Maryanne, my father's name is Robert and I'm reasonably confident that neither name is likely to change as they are now, both dead.

Between you and me, I've had enough of this bureaucratic B.S.

People! You send the application to my house, then you ask me for my ADDRESS! What the heck is going on? You must have a gang of bureaucratic Neanderthal morons working there!

Look at my damn picture.   Do I look like Bin Laden?   Ben Laden wouldn't be this freckled if he were reincarnated into a family Scots!   I just want to go and park my butt on a nice foreign sandy beach.   And would someone please tell me, why would you give a damn whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next 15 days?

If I ever got the urge to do something weird to a chicken or a goat, believe you me, I'd sure as hell not want to tell anyone - least of all, YOU!

Well, I have to go now because I have to run to the other end of the city and get yet another blankety-blank copy of my birth certificate to the tune of $100.

Would it be so difficult to have all the federal services in the same area so I could get a new passport the same day, or would that require too much planning and organization.

Or would you rather have us running all over the place like chickens with our heads cut off?   Do we really need to find some jerk to confirm that it's really me in the damn picture - you know, the one where we're not allowed to smile......?

Hey, you know why we can't smile?   We're totally P.O.'d!

Yours truly - An Irate Citizen,

P.S. Remember what I wrote about getting someone to confirm that the picture is me?   Well, my family has been in the United States of America since 1776.   I've served in the military for over 35 years and have had security clearances up the ying-yang.   But I STILL have to get someone important to verify who I am - this time it was my doctor........   WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN INDIA! - And you jerks want to run our health care system?????"

Now, who can argue with that?

Keep Your Head Low
Back in the late 70's, we warned of the effects of high gas prices - people would default on housing loans because they had to pay to get to work.   Back in 2008, we warned of the effects of high gas prices - same thing, effecting the government-backed bad loans, bringing down the Federal Reserve and many, many banks.

Here we are again.

And just as before, the high gas prices are being caused by two things: lack of oil production and bad government decisions and regulations.   Only this time, the government is the cause of compounding bad decisions.

This Government is the cause of your high gas prices.

This time, by printing all that money backed by nothing, they have devalued the US Dollar to the point that people are losing their confidence in the Dollar.   people, wanting to protect their oil profits, hedge their losses by buying oil futures, so that they can have their product delivered at an assured price.   The less oil they have, the more futures they need to buy.   The more futures they buy, the higher the price.   Eventually, the price begins to control itself and a bubble occurs.   Eventually the bubble bursts and the price goes down, but by then, the instability has been disastrous to the economy.

Currently, we're in the growing phase - the bubble is about ten months away.   In between now and then, the President, who has caused this particular rise by banning offshore drilling, will do nothing to ease the pain.   If anything, he will continue to make even more destructive decisions, weakening the country in more ways.   The only people who stand between this Loser and a ruined America is The House of Representatives.

Their task is beyond daunting.   It is questionable that they understand how filthy the Progressives are willing to get in order to make them lose in 2012.   Maybe they will be willing to fight each day.   They'll need to.

Happy New Year..

Christmas, 2010
Bah! Humbug!
A humbug is akin to a junebug. It hums about, looking like it's actually doing something, when, in fact, it is either looking to get laid, or spread disease. Either way, it is worthless to humans. How similar is the past Congress to the humbug. The only difference between this past Congress and a humbug is that you can kill a humbug with DDT. No wonder the EPA wanted to get rid of the pesticide. Merry Christmas!

Net Non-Neutrality
Once again, the Lame Duck Progressives, in the form of their FCC, have insinuated themselves into private business.
And once, again, the control freaks have won. It looks, like everything else they do, so good on paper - keeping those mean-old big communications companies from selling to people who can afford their product of time and band-width. What's wrong with this is that they are screwing with the primal forces of nature. Rather than let the free market decide who can afford what, now the government will decide - for those who recognize it, a Royal Patent, if you will.

What this means is that it will be less profitable to run these companies, and only the very biggest companies will be able to afford to give away bandwidth to those who really can't afford it. That, of course, will lead to less research because of the cost. As government creates more and more rules about what is and is not "fair," our telephonic infrastructure will lag more and more. Freedoms will be curtailed, and those of us who can afford services now, will eventually have to switch to something else, break the laws, or just give up.

This is, naturally, what the Progressives and some Republicans want - absolute control over truth. What's so odd is that this discussion was so completely obfuscated, that people actually think the FCC ruling, today, was a good thing. That's because we don't know any differently. Had there been no FCC, things would be completely different, better, with parents deciding what their child will and will not see. Adults taking responsibility. Failure being failure. Advanced science in communications.

But no. The FCC has declared that they know better than the free market, and we, once again, will have a system which kills freedom.

Rep. Jimmy Mann Has Died
Sad news. He was one of the last conservative Progressives. He was a good man. Honorable. Kept his word. A good friend of my father. His belief in freedom ran very deeply.

I remember, one time, several years ago - there was a woman who lived near him. She was genetically incapable of keeping her cats from ruining her neighbors' yards. She must have had four or five of the dang things. All the yards in the neighborhood smelled awful, as the story goes. After trying about twenty or so different peaceful ways of trying to get the woman to curb her cats' profligate bathroom habits, Jimmy had had enough.

The story goes that Jimmy was arraigned but the magistrate threw the case out - after several witnesses told him the circumstances - on the promise that Jimmy would not go after the rest of her cats with his .22 varmint gun. I'm told the woman either died or moved away, apparently taking her remaining cats with her, and can only hope it was the former.

We'll miss you, Jimmy.

Best Joke, So Far
I get more stuff originated by Ed Barnes of Moore, SC. He doesn't send them, OTHER people do. Frankly, I don't know the man.. but I wouldn't mind spending a few hours listening to him tell some of these jokes. I don't even know if these jokes are originally his, or he is just an amalgamater. Anyway, here's his latest..

A woman in a hot-air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."

The balloonist rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be an Obama Progressive."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

Ya gotta love it!

The Death of a Certain Bigotry
Make no mistake about it - Sodomy is still a sin. The Bible tells me so. But sodomy is committed by both men and women. The abolition of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" doesn't change that at all. No Proctologist worth her salt will tell you that there is any case where anal intercourse is physically beneficial. It is a destructive act.

On the other hand, people who can only find physical commitment with someone of his or her own gender, should not be kept from such a commitment - or penalized, either. What they do in that relationship is their own business, whether, by our lights, it is sin or not. Speaking in a religious sense, if they do not commit sodomy, they have not sinned. In koine, the word is "pornos" (πορνος).

One more point. This is an issue which will never be resolved. Those who think that same sex attraction is sinful will argue that the inability to process pheremones, in the same way heterosexuals do, can be "fixed." The opposite can also be argued, that pheremone processing is not like being born with a club foot, which needs fixing. That it is what it is.

There is an equal truth, that the "ick-factor" of homosexuality is high for most of us heterosexuals. But, it must be asserted that a "gross-out" is not homophobia when we are repulsed by an action our senses and pheremones tell us are gross. Likewise, we cannot blame a homosexual for being grossed out by heterosexual activites - you can't call it heterophobia, if you will. To claim homophobia or heterophobia, one must prove that pheremones are un-natural. Yet it is the nature of pheremones to be prescriptive as opposed to being descriptive.

Sauce for the goosed must, eventually, be sauce for the ganderer.

What do the eyes of God see? How do we know? These two questions alone, make me glad I am an Eleutherian and not a Conservative. I do not care what another does in the privacy of his quarters. Neither will I tolerate another's interfering with my chosen proclivities. My freehold begins with the edge of my yard or the door of my car or the beginning of my nose when I am in public. So does my neighbor's. And we know who our neighbor is, don't we?

Racism of the Finest Kind
Sen. Leader Harry withdrew the Omnibus Spending Bill. We're thinking, now, that there will be a continuing resolution. But the real breath-taker was the discovery of the biggest theft which almost happened. Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver, the new head of the Congressional Black Caucus, was about to steal $48Billion (with a B) and do it as an earmark in this bill.
Read this.

Progressive Black members of Congress will be asked about this attempted robbery and will dismiss it or lie. The reason why they will do this is worse than the fact of the attempted theft. They think they are due free money. On the very face of it, this is racism. Pure and simple.

What this tells any sane and reasonable person is that Progressive Blacks, who have sold out to this racist lie, DON'T want equality. They want evil. And don't, for a minute, think that Jim Clyburn thinks any differently.

A Word to the Wise.
Do not think for one moment that our Yankee brethren have any idea what self reliance is all about. They are pathetically broke in assets, ideas, and energy. It is the South and the Midwest to the Rockies, minus MIMO (Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, and Ohio are fused to the Northern Rust Belt), that have money, have lived through forced social change and adapted, and still have energy of ideas and ethics. The North is corrupt, confused, unethical, and buried. You might say that Hell really has frozen over.

Plausible Deniability.
If you needed any proof that Barack Obama is at least an economic fascist, all you had to do was watch as he left the press conference to Former real President Bill Clinton.

See, Obama does not like to think he is lying. Of course, in order to be a Keynesian economist, he has to be academically and scientifically dishonest, but to him, that's not the same thing. He's a true believer, and that means he HONESTLY believes an economic impossibility. So, he left the press room to the open-jawed amazement of the reporters there assembled.

He left it to a really, really good liar - "it" being the big lie that this compromise between either completely screwing the American taxpayer and disappointing the 20% of Americans who want to see the United States be more like the economically disestablished Europe.

Bill Clinton is used to hiding the fact that all progressives want to do is tax and spend. Barack Obama, Allah bless him, cannot bring himself to lie that much about something which goes against his true Keynesian belief - that America deserves what he has to offer. And so he left the room, proffering a lame excuse.

And that, gentle reader, is proof positive that he and socialism are wedded closer than the professional liar, he left the party for, and the truth.

The Decrepitude Of Liberalism. Does it feel as if the world is coming apart? Well, it isn't.

The last time you saw a really good "rip-snorter," there was a scene, toward the end when all hell broke loose, and it looked like everything good the protagonist did was unravelling. It's called the denouement - a French word which literally means " unraveling." Then, having failed, the Villains, in one last gasp of hate, stab at the heroes as they fall to their deaths below. The heroes smile and ride to the horizon - iris in - The End.

That's what's going on, now. The Progressives, having lost, pitifully, are trying, desperately, to reverse reality by causing as much havoc as they can, before they fall to their poltical deaths.

If movies aren't your thing, how about history?

The Japanese threw everything they had at us, at the very end. They to be put out of our misery by horror. Even after the first atomic bomb was dropped, they did not give up. They KNEW they were beaten, but they were true believers in the dark side. It took a second horror at Nagasaki, and even then they chose to commit sepuku - ritual hara-kiri - and left it to others to surrender.

Liberals and Progressives are true believers. Not in Jahweh. Not in Jesus. Not in Allah. Not in Ram. Not in the God of Buddah. They are true believers in a dark system which does not work - their god a plastic statue of an anal-repressive Victorian economic era which can never exist again - a time when money appeared finite - a time of European power and economic phantasm. It has scarred America with a deep wound. But it is not a fatal scar. And in two more years, we can bind all the wounds and rid ourselves of all the phony doctors' leeches.

We should be thankful that the drama in Washington has played out as it has. No time in history has shown the Liberal/Progressive movement for the pathetic failure it is, as has this present time. And the furious efforts of the losers to keep from falling to their deaths is but a figment of the progression of time. They will fall. They and their kind will politically die. After the denouement, there will be another ballot. A ballot, if you will, right between the eyes.

December 8, 2010
Big-Time Political Pandering. 34 Unions have just been granted exemption from the Health Bill. Also many big companies that supported the bill. In other words, YOUR tax money will have to be increased because THEY'RE not going to be forced to participate in the nationwide ponzi-scheme - but they will be beneficiaries of it. Also, guess who's going to have to pay for all that new unemployment? That will be the person in the mirror. And we thought we were getting something with the tax compromise.

Julian Assange, Bitching Liberals, Elizabeth Edwards, Dandy Don. Is there ANY good news, this Christmas? Well, yes. Tom Clancy has a brand new Jack Ryan book, just out for Christmas. If we can't have a real world with a decent President and Senate, at least we can pretend. Here's the link.

December 7, 2010
Shep Tells Only One Side. yep. The Person who personifies most the new, honest journalist, Shepherd Smith, of Fox News, has feet like everybody else. Guess it had to happen. He talked about the something-teen thousand people who make over $10M, and how, if they paid more taxes it would be 5 or 6 Billion Dollars in taxes. He acted as if it were a lot of money. What he didn't tell you was that the same 5 or 6 Billion bucks would generate 15 to 20 Billion dollars in jobs and profit which will generate another $30 or $40 Billion in salaries. But, let's face it, economics is not Shep's strong point.. and he is an alumnus of Ole Miss.

69th Anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. We don't even say who caused 9/11 anymore. Anybody want to argue that we're getting softer?

December 6, 2010
Read It - Just Read The Dang Thing! read the article in The State newspaper, and wish for better. The newspaper caught the State Ed system doing something really dumb and called them on it. The State Ed's response? - "Well, it's what the Feds told us to do."(!!!)

How's your memory?

Remember, back in the '50's when all those racists didn't want to take any Fed money because it would force the States to do what the Feds wanted? Remember, back in the 60's when all those Progs said we should take the Fed money since we had already integrated, and the rest of us said, "No. They'll eventually make us do things that are wrong."

The Progs "pooh-poohed," and now, we're screwed. Thank you Progressives for another gift of servitude.

Spy vs Spy vs Stupid OK, so let me get this straight - Global Warming, if it's happening at all, isn't caused by Humans - which is a good thing, but could be bad, if it really is warming up. But it might be cooling down, which is worse, because cold doesn't like food except when it's packaged by Humans after it's had lots of warm to grow it in - which is also good. But the Obama Administration believes it's warming up, which is good for food, but bad for refrigeration. So, like the Chicago bullies they are, the Obamaramas muscle the rest of the world with threats and money - which is bad - to get them to go along with their idea about Human-caused Global Warming - which is bad - or good - depending on whether Human-caused Global Warming is real, but it isn't. What's worse, we found out about the Bully-Boy tactics, thanks to Julian Assange and his Wikileaks, which is bad.

Is your brain hurting, yet? This is what dishonesty will do to you. We have lived, now, two full years with a liar and a bully as our national leader. And what else has he lied about? Probably, much.

December 5, 2010
No Tears. It was our game to lose and we did. They beat the hell out of us, and I knew they would. As soon as I heard that Marvin Bass had died, I knew we weren't going to win. I can't explain it. But it did happen.

On the other hand, Oregon will not be in BCS contention for at least 10 years after they are pummelled to death and stomped to little itty-bitty Duck pieces by Auburn. Oregon, or anyone from that pretend football league, should not be in contention for any football championship. It is the inherent weakness of any computer program. The national championship was decided when Auburn won the Western SEC title.

Am I sorry Carolina didn't win? Sure. But it won't be our last SEC Championship game, either. It's also not shameful to be beaten by the national champions. Wait 'til next year.

Congratulations to Wofford! They beat some Gamecocks, too. Just not Carolina.

December 3, 2010
Way To Go, Dems! Oil is close to $90/bbl. The average price of health insurance has risen another 20% on top of the 68% from last year. The largest tax increase in the history of the United States is almost upon us. The United States debt is approaching $14 Trillion. Our Military has once again, become a societal experimentation facility. Faith in the American Way is dwindling. Of course, Real Unemployment is far above 10%, and inflation is rampant. WHEN TARP AND THE STIMULUS WERE PASSED, ALL OF THIS WAS PREDICTED. WHY IS ANYONE SURPRISED?
