(The Swamp) --

More Hayes Than Giffords

I'm very happy that Gabby Giffords continues to recover from losing a fourth of her brain, after being shot by a crazy person. But the only thing missing from her testimony on firearms, Wednesday, was Nellybelle the Jeep. Wrong Gabby. I do not want to be disrespectful, but the Democrats' need to stop trotting her out, in a manner more befitting South Park than a serious discussion about firearms.

Gabby Hayes                   Gabby Giffords

Sadly, it is becoming obvious that she does not have all of her former faculties. And because she has been the center of this dog and pony show, there is a strong possibility she will become, for the Democrats, more embarrassment than heroic symbol. I would offer that Democrats have no shame, waving her as their bloody shirt, but that should already be common knowledge. And besides, Gabby Hayes wasn't ashamed that he bore and used a pistol, as Mrs. Giffords has forgotten that she had, but did not bear on that fateful day, her CWP-legal gun.

Something Isaiah Saw

It is starting to occur to some people in power that they do not hold the upper hand in some things. They won an election, yes, barely, but following the administration's desires will solve none of the monetary problems America has. And they are very afraid.

The reason is that Europe will either recognize that they hold all the currency cards, and abandon the Dollar, or China and Russia will replace the Euro with a blend of their currencies, and do the same thing. All it will take is one or the other saying to the world traders, "We're not going to accept Dollars for our goods, any more." On that day, the American Dollar will become like Weimar Deutschmarks. Those of us who have wisely purchased silver and gold will soon be targets for dictators and other thieves. With our guns gone and our fighting force weakened as planned, we will not need to be defeated by our own army, we will be as a feed-bag for wolves, as they come out of their self-inflicted slums and take what they will, all in the name of "fairness."

Isaiah's Vision of the Desolation by Gustav Doré

On that day, the producers will become complete slaves to the government. Bureaucracy will replace the Bill of Rights "for the safety of all citizens." Tanks will fill the streets as soldiers from Texas will be sent to Michigan and Oregonians sent to Carolina to "protect" the citizenry, while the Devil laughs, and America dies. Do not think for a moment that Progressives, jealous of their place in the new government, will not surrender their own mothers in order to stay on top.

On that day, Americans will ask the high and the mighty in DC to make a reckoning for its profligate currency actions and they will lie, saying it was this reason or that reason, or maybe it was all Bush's fault. But the people will know, and curse the names of those in power.

On that day, we will all know if the vision of Isaiah is an image of a prophecy, or just common sense in a world made insane by those with political power? Don't say, "It can't happen." It has before. Many times. And it can, again.

Un-Newsly Times

I understand that my last article (below) has caused a stir in certain circles, and I've been asked to write more. The fact is, what I wrote is all I know about the email. Anyway, that's not what I want to write about, today.

The New York Times had an article on Friday that was so misleading in its implications, that the record has to be set straight. The small investor is NOT, repeat, NOT back in the market. Our markets have been and continue to be moved by a few, very large investment firms. The amount of money flowing into the market from small investors has increased, but only by a small amount. The large sums are coming from the enormous amounts of dollars, hundreds of billions, which have been on the sidelines in the accounts of these large firms.

Notice the open and close of business, Friday, Jan 25th.
They're the only times when there is any meaningful volume.

And in any case, it's not how high the market indexes are, it's the up and down volume, and the up-volume remains lackluster. It's almost as if someone is trying to push the market to record highs on a lie.

I generally don't read The New York Times. Friday, I remembered why. So when you hear how great the economy is, just yawn and go back to bed.

Smirking, Braying Jackass

If my sources are correct, there is an email, still extant, from SecState Hillary Clinton to Lybian Ambassador Christopher Stevens, acknowledging the danger he was in (we don't know if it ignores or agrees with his request). If that is true, and, frankly, there is no way to prove it, it makes no difference in her testimony before House and Senate committees, on Wednesday.

The reason it doesn't is that she has already lied. BarryO's and her comments for consumption in Pakistan are either lies, or she lied before congress. Either way, she lied. We know, now that The Mid-East foreign policy of the Obama Administration, in which she is complicit, is an utter, crushing failure. We just didn't know how bad a failure it really was, until the attack on the embassy.

What difference does it make? Elections matter.
The difference between lying and truthing.

We already know SecState Clinton is a congenital liar, the late Bill Safire said so, and added proof to the pudding. Carl Bernstein was sad at the truth of the matter. Even Bob Woodward noted, in so many words, that there were so many questions surrounding several activities of the former First Lady, that it was probably her saving grace that she had not spoken often before Congress.

Well, she has spoken in front of committees of both the Senate and the House, smirking and playing Termagant and sounding as clanging brass. Clinton, answering the piercing questions of Senator Johnson, sounded more like Eric Cartman in her now bullying, now weeping performance. She either lied to the world and told the truth before Congress or lied to Congress. But we know, now that she lied to the world in front of those dead servicemen in the hanger all those months ago, which makes her fifth-grade acting exhibition on Wednesday even more vile.

L'Chaim!

Bibi Netanyahu still leads the government of the only true friend of America in the Middle East. Good for him, and good for us, no matter what the pretender in the White House and his silly 1930's Italian-style fascists think.

Coming soon: Boycotting EVERYONE who supports Obama.

From Disney Unto Disney

I have finally figured out who Obama reminds me of. Ever since I first saw him, something in his eyes reminded me of someone from my youth. Tonight, I saw that look, that face, from my younger days - it was the face of the wicked step-mother in Cinderella, the 1950's cartoon epic from Walt Disney.

It's not that his face looks like a cartoon, or even a cartoon wicked step-mother, although "wicked step-mother" is precisely the kind of leadership we've had for four years. It's the look in his eyes. You just know that everything this wicked step-mother will do will somehow come to ruin, by the force of her own personality, which cannot change, even if she wanted it to, which she doesn't, because she enjoys being a wicked step-mother.

On this day, when we subject ourselves to scullery-maid slavery for another four more years, I thought it important to put things in their proper perspective. It doesn't change anything, but I thought it might be good therapy.

Ironical Factoid: Disney was a little "L" liberatarian capitalist whose company has been coopted by a big government fascist. Walt has become his own wicked step-mother.

S.... Nope..

Fox News exposed the so called "fact checking" site, snopes.com, run by a couple in Canada, several times over the years, for not only not disproving facts, but telling half-truths to cover themselves. Well, this time, it didn't take Fox News to do it. Purportedly, trying to disprove the internet rumor that more people are murdered by baseball bats than by guns, the site revealed some really sloppy "fact- checking."

They even quote an allegedly accurate FBI survey of murder weapons, which goes back many years, with guns being the big killer.. What they DON'T tell you is that more than 50% of those numbers are not even murders, which is the whole point of the article, other than baseball bats. Most of the deaths are suicides, and many of them were caused by accidents.

One other fact, passed over in the snopes.com article, is that the FBI tables are not actuarial.. that is, they are merely educated guesses - statistics. If you have read this column for any length of time, you know what a rabbit trap statistics are. Game theorum has been proven to be chaos theorum, so guessing about important facts just won't cut it. Maybe in years to come, we can get actuarial numbers, but as long as the king of liars is running Justice, I wouldn't trust their numbers on a grocery list.

But even if you do believe the FBI numbers, they show that the "gun" deaths were not from assault weapons, but pistols, and, as I pointed out, were not murders, by half. From ALL methods, 14,612 total murders were committed in the US in 2011, which is down .7% from 2010. So, in actual fact, more MURDERS were perpetrated from non-gun causes, in comparison, if not by baseball bats, alone.

And while we're at it, 42,000 people were killed in auto accidents in 2011 (actuarial numbers), though hopefully, not as an act of murder. If we used the same logic as snopes.com or their friends in the progressive land of make-believe, do we ban cars, or limit gas?

Any Got Your Gun?

Since the invention of the ballistic missile some 30,000 years ago, there have been people who think they can make peace by disarming those who have arms. It is a fruitless and hapless enterprise.

But one does not have to look very far back in time in order to see the most effective way to keep from having death by projectiles. It was called "Mutually Assured Destruction" or MAD. The United States and the Soviet Union each said it had the requisite number of nuclear missiles to adequately wipe out the other country, should a nuclear war break out. It never happened because each side was too sane to pull the trigger. It worked.

It worked because it operates from the same principle understood by our founding fathers - an armed society is a polite society.

Every twenty years or so, the sons and daughters of dunderheads crawl out from under their inherited wealth to grace us with stupidities they deem important, but which is little more than fantasy born of boredom. One of the worst of these ideas is that they can "solve" the problem of "gun-evil" in the world. The idea is as insane as the person whose evil has evoked the response in the first place. As Ghandi once said, "It is better to be violent... than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence."

If their ideas were sane, they would not be trying to implement laws which have been tried and failed: firearm suppression, bullet limitations, registration, etc. Not one of them has ever worked and never will.

In a perfect world, we would not need firearms at all, but this world will never be perfect. We need an answer for a faulty world - an insane world. And in an insane world, Mutually Assured Destruction is a very sane idea. It is not a comfortable solution - people will have to be responsible for and to themselves - but for all but the cowardly, arming every citizen is the best answer. And that's only one of the reasons the 2nd Amendment is such a good idea.

Progressives Having A "Hissy" Over an Inconvenient Truth

What Americans heard was "The horse-laugh, heard round the world" at Administration Flak, Jay Carney's comments on the NRA Commercial, calling Obama the elitist hypocrite that he is. Said Carney..

"Most Americans agree that a president's children should not be used as pawns in a political fight... But to go so far as to make the safety of the president's children the subject of an attack ad is repugnant and cowardly." (read the whole story, here)

Progressives having hissy fit over this NRA commercial

What Carney did not mention was that his Emperor, Barry, was doing the exact same thing with the innocent children of the "commoners." And the people of America laughed at him for it.

It was as if he were saying, "It's all right for me to use your children as pawns, but don't you use mine in the same way. Only I, the Great Barack Hussein Obama, can use your helpless children to put FORWARD my political goals, to subjugate America and bring it to its knees."

Were I a Democrat, I would be embarrassed. Good thing I'm not.

SHALL ALMOST BE INFRINGED:

Barack Obama backed off a Presidential edict requiring police departments which receive Federal funds to report people who have purchased semi-automatic firearms to a national databank. He had been considering the move as late as 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, as part of at least two (2) proposals that violated both the 2nd and 4th amendments to the constitution. Two edicts he kept in his list will violate the fifth and fourth amendments (#'s 16 & 17 and possibly #6 on the Fox News List). A lot of the edicts have language so vague, that almost anything can be enacted under them - or nothing. More later..

Why Did The Woman Steal The Train And Slam It Into The Building?

She had a strict "no guns" policy.

But, enough is enough! We MUST BAN TRAINS!!! At the very least, we must register trains - and no more private re-sales of trains. No concealed train permits. And enough about the Accommodations Clause of the Constitution and the 14th Amendment!

The Short Version

The following is a public announcement. You may use it to shut up the braying jackasses who worship the bronze demi-god in the Whitehouse:

  1. What? You just realized that guns don't go off by themselves? The bronzed caped crusader demi-god you voted for and his faithful companion Dingbat, think they do.
  2. Was your paycheck any less this week? Wellllllll, you have no-one to thank but yourself. You voted for him and he is tuo Duce.
  3. You union guy, lost your job, didja? Too freakin' bad, dude. You voted for him, but you can be comforted by the fact that your union boss still has his six figure job.
  4. Awwwww.. price of gas up again? Tsk, Tsk.. You voted for him. He had promised to make fossil fuels unaffordable. Didja notice that?
  5. Didja notice the price of almost everything at the grocery store has doubled in price as has lumber.
  6. You Christians and Muslims and Orthodox Jews having a little problem with your leaders being the ones behind the political abortion movement? Well you liberal progressives voted for your one true god and now he's going to make you pay.
  7. Did you just figure it out.. all those price rises and no real hiring it's called "STAGFLATION."
  8. Wait til the real costs of Obamacare kick in and your doctor quits. Several have already. And wait till your insurance rates - cheered on by AARP - go sky-high.
  9. Yes, Obama really is turning Afghanistan and Iraq into Vietnam. But you voted for him!
  10. Even the state legislature is getting a bad case of Rinoitis. But you voted for them.. Now, didn't you?

Well, it's almost posse commitatus time. Hope your neck is stiff, your gun oiled, and your prayers said. The brownshirts and bootjacks are coming for you.. And they don't like the constitution because it forces them to stop being lazy and trying to find easy answers.

Dictator or Constitution?

What can a POTUS do, when it comes to making rules about a specific mentioned right in the Constitution, the answer is, NOTHING.

What WILL a POTUS do? Everything that a weak and hapless Congress allows.

You want to change the IInd Amendment, change the dang thing. The one thing you cannot do is dictate a change which the Constitution protects. Period.

There is a real and present danger occurring in Senate and Presidency. But even if the Republicans did control the Senate, they have become so cowardly that they are allowing the POTUS to RULE America.

It is becoming more and more evident that if America wants to return to its values and principles, there must be new political party, where conservatives, libertarians, and freedom-loving Democrats and independents (ie. TEA Partiers) can express their political will. But don't think, for a moment, that the Republicans will nurse this along. The have become the Establishmentarians - a term which goes back to the bad old days when the Crown insisted that the Church of England be the only church in England. The Republicans (so far, not ALL, but MOST) appear not to want freedom for America. They just want America for the Republicans.

I'm still taking names for the new party. Just use the "FEEDBACK" button.

Quote of the Day

From the moroon who runs the public health services for Chicago: "There's not a shortage of flu vaccine, there's just a lack of inventory."

S. E. C. 'Nuff Said

What a complete embarrassment for the BCS system the Alabama slaughter was! Oh, WOW, Southern Cal.. Oh, WOW, Oregon.. Oh, WOW, Michigan.. Oh, WOW, Stanford.. Blah, Blah, Blah..

It's not that Notre Dame is a bad team. They won their games against the angel-maids in the Mid-West and West. They're just not SEC quality. (and yes, Clemson ought to be in the SEC.)

Right now, I just wish the jocks on ESPN would SHUT UP!!! They won't, of course, because many of them graduated from So. Cal and UCLA and Notre Dame. So I'll just wish them a certain song: "Watergate does not bother me.. does your conscience bother you?"

Bank of America Fraud (again, but for a different reason)

A major crime, affecting the civil rights of every American, has been committed, and it may have been fostered by the Fed. Bank of America is holding back funds deposited through credit cards from American Gun Maker, American Spirit Arms. Read the article by Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr in the CNS news service, and your jaw will drop. You might also want to consider supporting the subscription-based news service.

If the Federal Reserve and the Justice Department are involved, then Federal fraud has been committed by agencies of the United States, and Congress should impeach and convict the heads of both groups.

Science Is Fun & Helpful

SecState Clinton and a football helmet gift.

Hillary Clinton sure looks great, considering she was so sick she couldn't testify about Benghazi. Science must have progressed a whole lot more than anybody knows. Her mouthpiece at State says she wants to testify. And I want bees to fly up my nose..
  .

Worthy Distraction

Please forgive me, but I care more about Monday's Finals between Alabama and Notre Dame.

If I were a cruel man, I would wish that the Tide rolls over the fighting Leprechaun by such a number that people will look away in shame at the concept of the BCS ever pitting so pathetic a team up against the SEC's finest. But I wont. Notre Dame has been resting all season, playing teams which remind one of girl schools and academies for he blind. Alabama has had to contend with the SEC and have come away the winner.

But because they have been resting all season, Notre Dame may just have the upper hand Monday night. And I won't be watching the news as we begin to crown a new King for America.. Instead, I will be reveling in the season's great festival of College football, complete with chips and homemade cheese and salsa dip

To heck with the Emperor, my couch awaits!

Assuming Honesty

Lying our way to prosperity? Well.. that's what they THINK can happen. Who are "THEY?"

Well, "THEY" are your beloved President, your precious Senate, your 47% Democrats, and your ignorant Republicans in the House and the Senate. And, as always, we're preaching to the choir as our South Carolina delegation, with one exception, is peopled by responsible, thoughtful South Carolinians.

One of the biggest liars in the Senate is Chuck Schumer (D-NY). He has gotten so bad, that you can discount almost anything he says. The latest of these is the reasonable Sandy help passed by the House and sent to the Senate. The Sandy cost is less than $20 Billion. The insurance cost is even less. The House passed a $9 Billion insurance bill which takes care of the neediest, minus all the pork that had been piled on a similar bill which was ditched. Schumer lied to the press, pretending that the $60 Billion in the House-rejected bill wasn't for pork. No shame.

This is what we get..

Nobody mentioned that this could have been avoided if the people who lived on the coast had purchased their own private insurance. But many families have been "grandfathered" by their state governments so many times, that they didn't even know they needed hurricane insurance. They know now, and we are paying for it.

But there are a lot more lies. For instance, the jobs numbers for the past four years. Everybody hears the numbers that SOUND as if things are getting better, but few people hear the news, a month later, which totally blasts those fairy-tale numbers into the pit.

And how about the debt ceiling argument? It is completely false that the ceiling can go up indefinitely, as was expressed by several "experts" paid for or influenced by the administration. If the American Dollar were not the world exchange currency, which it may not be, much longer, the dollar would implode, and we would be like the Weimar Republic. Two things only have to happen, but they will, given our continued profligacy - The Chinese, the Russians, and the Europeans can agree to accept the Yuan (renminbi) at a standard rate, honored by all of them - and the military budget can be cut to limit the military in its world-wide functions, in favor of more social engineering.

Then, there are the lies about unions, Obamacare taxes (which you found out about, today), raised taxes for everyone making $40,000 a year, claustrophobic EPA restrictions, job killing SEC regulations, payment for disasters without offsets, Republicans being guilty for the Katrina recovery and Obama isn't for Sandy, and on and on..

The reason I'm writing about this, today, is that I got a snowman that craps mints. I had to fix it before it worked right. It plays a little tune as you give it a tap on its head. It delivers a hard candy mint into a hat. I kid you not. But isn't this what we're getting from mostly Democrats? a little song and then they crap a mint into a hat and we think it's great.

Ist vs IInd?

How did it ever come to this? We are now using the First Amendment to "out" holders of the 2nd Amendment.

Mind you, protectors of the Constitution have been warning about gun registration since the 1950's, and now, we know it isn't just about commies invading America, á là Red Dawn. Fascist progressives who are also the enemy. We already know their patsies in Democrat party are trying to Europeanize our once free country.

Please understand, there is no - that's NO - evidence to support the argument that gun control works as a deterrent against crime. There is, however, as any person who bothers to see it, plenty of evidence that arming thoughtful citizens prevents crime.

It is equally true that the Journal News in New York, across the border from Connecticut, found the names of legal gun owners in a public record, and printed them. FOI. They had a right to do it. But what they did not have a right to do, was to make a private record, held by a public entity, which legislators had promised would be kept private, public.

What has happened is what always happens when you depend on government to solve a problem - it always, ALWAYS creates another problem. Even WWII, the best thing we have ever done as a country, created an inflationary cycle which has, now 70 years on, still to be tamed. In this instance, the honest gun-owners were penalized for following the law.

The change that MUST be made is that government should not be trusted with private information. Surely, we, who pay taxes in this state, know that to be true. The problem is that how you carry can be detailed by a State. They can tell you how to drive your car, they just can't keep you from having one, unless you prove yourself a criminal. What they haven't learned to do yet, in Columbia, and other state capitols, is to pass laws to prohibit divulging of names forcefully held to fulfill State regulations.

It's nobody's damn business if I own a gun, or a bow and arrow, or a kitchen knife. It's especially nobody's damn business if I am complying with a state law, having registered my name and address, privately, with the State. We NEED to pass laws protecting the privacy of gun owners AND car drivers.

And, before we leave this subject, we need to look at the liability that accrues to publications which expose innocent, private gun owners to public scrutiny. It can be logically argued that they are divulging private information, which privacy is guaranteed by the government requiring it for their purposes - a Fourth Amendment violation. Simply because they demand the information, and they hold that information, does not necessarily mean that it is public information.

This issue is not necessarily a First versus Second amendment conundrum. It is a misinterpretation of the First and Fourth.

Football Irony

For what it's worth, Florida should have been beaten badly by USC, but most of our boys were throwing up two days before the game. That, and friendly referees were a recipe for disaster. But Florida still cannot escape the long arm of the Gamecocks. Charlie Strong, a long time defensive coach for Steve Spurrier, now the head coach of Louisville, handed Florida their collective head Wednesday night. Congratulations, Charlie and his mighty Cardinals.

Fools & Our Money

OK, everybody.. let's all step back, take a breath, and look at the situation for what it is.

  • Wednesday's upswing in the markets is pure hubris. There was NO real "up" volume worth mentioning, despite what the redhead said on FBN (look at the Yahoo! volume chart.)
  • This was a great opportunity to take profits.
  • There are eight new Obamacare taxes which will punch the middle class right in the wallet.
  • Capital gains taxes increase in two ways.
  • The deduction for medical expenses will go down significantly for any family making over $40,000 a year.
  • Small businesses will be hit the worst as most small businesses pay taxes pay on a private individual level.
  • The recession which never went away in the North and the West will deepen and effect some of us in the South and Midwest.
  • As technology races ahead, union-based labor will continue to be fired and never rehired - too expensive to keep.
  • The only benefit will accrue to lawyers and bean-counters as the new taxes will confuse business even more.
  • Look for the US credit rating to drop, again, as the dollar becomes more and more worthless.
