IRONY and Angles
Esau has nothing on Illegals and other Victims of Obama

Apeil 25, 2010

(The Swamp) -- When I was a young man, I thought it was possible to trisect an angle with only a straight-edge and a pair of compasses. As I struggled in vain to achieve the unachievable, I thought that all I had to do was THINK of the answer and it would happen. I did discover that at certain angles, 90° is one of them, you could trisect any line which is perpendicular to the center line of the angle which it would, then, approximately trisect.

I also discovered, however, that while I was on this ridiculous quest, the unintended consequence of this hunt cost me the time I needed to learn French. Needless to say, I had to work twice as hard to undo what my dalliance had cost me.

As you may have read in an earlier editorial, the unintended consequences of fooling with complex systems can be anything. But whatever it is, it usually complicates, even further, the complex system it was intended to help fix. And when it comes to all of the foolish changes that have been proffered and/or passed by the current administration, we have only begun to see the errors and complications.

But this week, I want to talk about the irony of what has happened and will happen because of all this foolishness.

Remember, now, that every single bill which has been passed, the past two years, effects at least one complex system. How ironic is it that none of these bills were read by the people responsible for passing them?

Oh, they were read, alright, but not by the majority that passed them. They were read by the people who tried to warn these intellectual lemmings of the foolishness of their actions.

With each of these bills, Progressives are trying to trisect an angle with a straight edge and a pair of compasses. And they will pass all of this legislative silliness such as the poorly named "Health Care" Bill, the aptly named "TARP" bailout, and the goofily named boondoggle "Cash for Clunkers," without any idea of the waste of precious time, energy, wealth, and lives of the very people they are trying to help.

Another apropos irony is the fact the the current resident of the White House just loves Abraham Lincoln. And well he should.

Lincoln was a snake. He not only saw the big picture, he created it with just a few lies and enough fecklessness - promising this and that and then reneging. He divided his country too, taxing the South for Northern mistakes such as oil and railroad monopolies.. Starting a war caused by his mistakes and then changing its focus from states rights to slavery. He was not the amateur that many of my forebears thought him to be. So let it be with Ceasar.

One really scary result of all of this Robin Hood nefariousness, is that the gross giveaway makes people think they must depend on Barack Obama, personally. Their birthrights have been bought for a pittance, as Esau did to his brother Jacob, like Charleston Progressives buying black votes for the price of a box of chicken, each..

This President has begun the transfer of American's wealth to "half-citizens" who threaten this country's honesty by their mere presence, as they steal much needed jobs from a workforce that would work, if they could. The irony is that he promised to all that he would not do so, yet by his simple inaction, has done.

George Bernard Shaw, that intellectual fascist, whose plays are far better than his economics, was once quoted as saying, "Some see things as they are and say, 'why?' I look at things the way they could be and ask, 'why not!'" Woe to us that so many have listened to this incestuous song.

Americans should be, instead like the raven of Edgar Allen Poe, who, at his suicidal drunkest, was a better American than those who steal jobs from us at the most vulnerable time in our history - Progressives and Illegals - and so say, "NEVERMORE."

November 2nd is coming.
