(The Swamp) - America, the Hated, has always been and will be, the Good Samaritan.
But can we help in time?
Besides the silliness of Biden and Li'l' Sis going to Little Haiti to talk about how much the
Obama Administration cares about Haitians - likened to a visit to Quebec to talk about
how much help is being given to France - other than that, America's effort is almost an exact
repeat of the time-line for help in N'awlins.
When historians look back at the Katrina effort and compare it to the Haiti effort, they
will declare that there is only so much you can do when ALL of the infra-structure is destroyed.
Three to five days is how much time it takes to start meaningful aid to any such area.
Armies know about big efforts. Look how long it takes to mount a war effort: It still took
Eisenhower, with Marshall kicking butts in Washington to help him, a year and a half to get
ready for D-Day. Some say more.
None of this is new thinking.
Even the Good Samaritan had to: 1. do triage and THEN 2. Take him a goodly piece away
to the Innkeeper who had to promise to take the two silver pieces to take care of the wounded
man. And we have NO IDEA HOW LONG it took before the Samaritan walked by, in the
first place.
One thing is sure. At some point, because of the universal principle of the grieving process,
you can be certain that the guy who got helped was angry that he was not helped soon enough.
It is, after all, human nature. After denial comes anger, according to Kubler-Ross. Then
comes bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Just the psychological process, itself, takes
time. And, yes, when a people are used to living by hand-outs, doing for themselves is foreign
to them. It is so foreign, in the case of Haiti, that journalists, in-country, were surprised
that some of the inhabitants were actually helping people out of the rubble themselves rather
than sitting around, crying for help.
The ONLY difference, on average so far, between the time of delivery of service between
Katrina and Haiti, is that the major media is on the side of the current administration. There are
many who are fearful that Haiti will eventually be far worse.
Those of us who don't like O'bama for so many just reasons, must join together with his
followers, as we respond to this relief effort. We know that they are hypocrites, but they
are our neighbors, and they cannot genuinely want to do evil. So let's genuinely join to
help others at this time of need.
We have had a link to the American Red Cross where you can donate. If everyone gave
a dollar for each member of their family, that would be good. Of course, you can always
give more.
Even though the Liberals and Progressives can't stand the idea, it's times like this that
prove we are One Nation, Under God.
