(Ed Begley, Jr. & an imaginary skywriting protester)
TRUE BELIEVERS
As the argument for man-made global warming slips away, back to its fraudulent origins, climatologists have been shown to be high priests of a false religion.

November 29, 2009

(The Swamp - About two years ago, many of us libertarians and conservatives came to the conclusion that man-made global warming was more religion than fact. At that point, the Russian and Chinese "fudged" temperature numbers had just been discovered, rendering the entire debate up for grabs. The recent discovery that the models used by the global warming gurus had been "prefixed" with phoney data, now renders the argument moot.

There is no proven science of man-made global warming. Period.

Yet, there are those in Universities who are favored by the left, which still cling to the mysteries of climate change the way the mideval church clung to their outmoded definitions of the universe in the face of real science. They are dangerous bastions of a wickedness which is self-sustaining.

In science, true believers are a dangerous thing. The gleam in their eye, their willingness to betray the very foundations of their mysterium (guild of science, in this case) for an ideal, especially one which is so completely corrupted by fantasy.

My example is Ed Begley, Jr.

Ed, who was at one time a great fan of science fiction, came to believe all of the numbers on global warming, which we now know were partially faked. Even as he was presented the evidence, he railed against those who "cannot bring themselves to believe the facts..."

The icing on the cake occurred when it was pointed out to him that almost all the prominent physicists had warned that the mathematics were simply not there and the numbers were either improperly gathered or, worse, fabricated.

"Don't ask a physicist about climate change, ask a climatologist!" yelled Begley.

It was sad and embarrassing.

An analogy - if climate were a building, a physicist would be the architect. A climatologist would be the janitor. Not asking a physicist about the theories of climate change is like ignoring the plans on which the building was established. This should be commonly understood.

But Ed Begley, Jr. wasn't arguing science. He was arguing theology: "..in a fair world, how can a just God allow the beautiful idea to die? Therefore, I am right and the horrible fat, and ugly people of facts are wrong!"

We must let this religion die, in order for sanity and freedom to exist. But it will not go gently into that good night.

Global Warming caused by humans is a false religion. Its high priests are Senators and Representatives. Their acolytes are men and women of false learning in some of our beloved Universities. They feed off of their own ideas in an incestuous dance of provocation and guessing. A clever phrase is better than a fact. People who have dedicated their entire lives to a false idea fight harder than the people who have proof. But the fight is joined.

It is a sad thing to watch a religion die. Even a false one.
