(South Carolina) -
Judah P. Benjamin, that famous Jewish statesman from South Carolina, is probably
rolling over in his grave.
How many times does it have to be explained that Israel has as ancient a claim on
their territory as does the Philistines (Phoenecians, Palestinians, Punes, etc.)? There
is even some new archeological evidence that Sheban Habiru were the precursors
of the Etruscans (the similarities in alphabets have been noticed by scholars for
years.) Even if there were no historical precedence for a Jewish presence in the
middle east, Palestinians supported the Nazis in WWII, along with their puppet
master, Iraq. They DESERVED to lose what land they claimed to have in 1946.
There are people who live around Israel who want to wipe them off the face of
the Earth. There are people who who live around there who worship a god they
say wants them to kill Jews and all the people who support them. They don't care
that they think Hitler had the right idea. They don't care that the presence of
Jews in Palestine is a righteous and laudable thing. They just want to put away
from them everything that reminds them of the failure of their own culture.. which
is just about everything that isn't themselves.
This latest flare-up in Gaza is not about Islam vs Judaism. It's not even about
Israel v Palestine, this time. It's about Hamas, the
puppet of Iran's crazy leadership, and Israel trying to stop 3,000+ rockets being
fired into their territory during a PEACE initiative.
If Canada were firing Katusha missiles into Minnesota, do you think we would just
sit there and take it? Well maybe if it were Minnesota, but not if it were Montana,
and certainly not North Dakota!
The same thing applies to Israel.
This has been going on, now, for something close to seven thousand years. In the
early days, it was the trans-Jordanian tribes versus the Mediterranean coast dwellers.
Then it was the Habiru versus the Phoenecians. Then it was the Philistines versus
the Egyptian Monotheists/Habiru combination. Then it was the Hebrews vs. Hittites,
then the Persians, then the Greeks, then the Romans. Then it was run away for both
the heathen Palestinians and the Jews while the Christians ruled the place. Mohammed
had his visions and off we go again, with arabs taking over (not Palestinians).
The Christians take it back and then lose it again. Turkish Islam ruled the area
and actually allowed Jews to prosper, until the late 19th century when the reform
movement began, militarizing the religion to a fever pitch. And don't forget England's
contribution to the mix. The current "Palestinians" are as much a recent construct
as the back-to-Israel movement in the 19th & 20th Centuries.
How do you solve the situation?
Well, with a two-state solution, a Jewish state isn't the problem. The problem is the
militant Islamicists who have vowed among themselves to eradicate Israel. And
they will not stop until they kill every Jew in the middle east or are killed themselves.
Robert A. Heinlein once said that you can have peace or you can have freedom, but
you seldom have both at the same time.
The militants have defined their own problem. The Jews have the guts to make
the militants live up to their own definition. The only real question is, will we let
them?
