A New Year - A New Party?
Calling All conservatives and libertarians who believe in the constitution, infrastructure, and a strong standing volunteer armed services.

(South Carolina) - Are you like me, sick of the growing arrogance of the legislature AND the Governor's power grab in the name of "streamlining"?

Do you see the corruption of the soul of the two party system - the tit-for-tat back scratch for the good ole boys and girls? Did you know that state government has grown nearly 17% in one year - ONE YEAR?

Transparency is a joke. We keep shoveling fish at the poor instead of teaching them to fish. Our schools are being ignored or cut off at the knees. Not the Governor. Not the House Speaker. Not even a majority of Senators really care about the State - just whether they get elected again and again and again. And to see how much power they can accumulate.

Instead of rational sharing of what resources we have, turf fights have broken out and each group leader panics and rushes to see whom they can lay off, instead of finding useful budget cuts. Bullies in the bureaucracy threaten disaster while bullies in the executive counter with worse threats of their own.

It was not always so. When David Wilkins was the Speaker, he set a personal example of superior governance that never forgot one basic principle: He was always a representative of the people of this State. When the Governor brought in pigs, David Wilkins called it for the cheap shot it was. And under his leadership the government stayed smaller. Nobody is perfect, but David was dang close!

Now, instead of responsible government, we have showboats and arguments.

It may be time for a change.

Not back to the Progressives. Not to the Libertarians, we need a large standing armed forces to scare the hell out of the Russians and the Chinese and the Islamicist Terrorists.

GOD HELP US, we need to change to a NEW party. One that will replace a Republican party which only knows how to grow government. One that will welcome balanced budgets that include roads, bridges, and schools as infrastructure, and treat them as such. One that recognizes the importance of eschewing a national government which does nothing but punish the producers in favor of unions and other non-producers. One which demands personal responsibility and the importance of making losers pay for abusive lawsuits.

We need a political party that recognizes that the second amendment is not a mandate to license firearms, and enforce that freedom EVERYWHERE in the state. One which knows anything less is reducing the weakest among us to instant victimhood.

Frankly, I don't even know how to start a political party. But I do know one very important thing - The one we've got - the IN NAME ONLY party - isn't the one that is solving the problems. NO ONE IS SOLVING THE PROBLEMS!

If you agree with me, then you need to REMEMBER how you feel right now, the next time someone asks you to participate in the next political get-together. It can't hurt, and it might just do some good.

Just remember that evil occurs when good people do nothing.
