Humbrage & Transference

(AMERICA) - How many questions about the honesty of Barack H. Obama's campaign do honest journalists have to ask in order to get a single truthful answer? Is there even an answer to this question? Who knows?

The reason nobody knows is that the Obama campaign has religiously stonewalled or tried to destroy reporters who are asking these questions.

Is Barack Obama a natural born citizen, according to the Constitution? Obama has repeatedly refused to show anybody a copy of his birth certificate. It isn't that this is suspicious. This is completely outrageous. John McCain has a birth certificate. Sarah Palin has one. Even Don'cha - Know - Joe Biden has one. What's so difficult about seeing Obama's birth certificate, anyway? If he's not hiding anything, then he should cough it up! That thing on the Daily Kos rumor rag is obviously a fake - I'm surprised that they put it up. We're not saying Obama's an illegal, but if there isn't a birth certificate, he shouldn't have even been able to get a driver's license. And we're not talking Cindy's money or Sarah's emails, either, we're talking something that could cause a constitutional crisis. Obama's people did take time to take humbrage at the suggestion that he do something every American has had to do at one time or another.

The Los Angeles Times has a tape of Obama praising a well-known Palestinian terrorist. OK, well, today's terrorist is tomorrow's patriot. But the tape would also reveal some pretty embarrassing comments made by Obama about some other pretty shady people and some really disturbing ideas. Is it any wonder that Obama's pet paper isn't releasing it? OK, if it's untrue, the tape will tell. Is it, as some have proffered, a tape that shows him favoring the overthrow of the government? Or is it more slippery? More political? What's the deal? Obama's people did take humbrage, however, at the suggestion.

Then there's ACORN, the folks that the Justice Department says may be undermining the Progressiveic process all over the country, by registering illegally an untold number of voters and being protected by Clinton era federal judges. There are plenty of documents that could prove all this, but they seem to have been mysteriously misplaced. That fact, and the recent racist ACORN ad, also seem to be a setup to blame racism for an Obama loss. They have taken humbrage, already, for Obama's politicos.

Also missing is the promise that Obama would not use private funding for the election. He has, however, taken humbrage at the suggestion that he made an empty promise.

Obama has proven himself a sexist - see his latest ad; a Marxist - ask Joe the Plumber; a dumbass for making Joe Biden his VP choice; a chicken - remember his fear of the war against tyrrany and terror (before he changed his mind); and an opportunist - see his 42 (yes 42) other "changes" of mind. He has taken humbrage each time he has been questioned on these. If you don't vote for him, his politicos say, you're either stupid, pathetic, or a racist.

Finally, when asked for specifics about his "economic justice" plans, he smirks and takes humbrage. His followers know what he means. Children in SC schools are being told by their parents that "President Obama is gonna give us money." Of course Obama himself says that's not going to happen. His people have taken humbrage, saying anyone who says that people say that are racists. Even that 30-minute psalm to Obama, before the World Series, had no specifics, except for a couple of things which no real economist would endorse, except for money. He must have had another "change" of mind. Oh, Biden says it's a 150-thousand dollar ceiling now - that's "changed" from $250,000 which was "changed" from $300,000. And Obama promised he would give real specifics! Does he actually think that his paean to class envy (which is really nothing more than covetousness) is the answer to economic problems? Does he know that Herbert Hoover did the same thing he's proposing? Will his people take humbrage when they're questioned about that, too?

Psychologists say that people who hate people who remind them that they've screwed up have latent hostilities, and they try to transfer their shortcomings onto the person who reminded them. If that doesn't work, then they resort to humbrage as a tactic to deflect. Does this sound familiar? It should.

The question is this - why are we still trying to find out what Obama stands for? Are we afraid of his humbrage? - or - are they more afraid of their opponents' curiosity?

As Dick Morris says, "Fear can be legitimate."
