(South Carolina) - Yes, I support Fred Thompson for the Republican Presidential nomination. I'm hoping that you will, too!

I declared for and endorsed Sen. Thompson back before he began to run. Now that it's crunch time, it's not news that SwampfoxNews.com supports the Man from Tennessee.

There are many big reasons why you should also vote Sen. Thompson.

Over the past week, you have read that he is the only true conservative. While this is arguably true, when the chips are down, a good president really needs the media. Mark this: ONLY FRED THOMPSON CAN GET ALONG WITH THE MEDIA. Since they hate President Bush, how can this be true? Simply because, like Ronald Reagan, he knows the Media bigwigs and soldiers, intimately, and has credibility with them. Remember, no recent president has truly succeeded without the help of the press. Sometimes, Reagan had to manipulate the media by going directly to the people. But whatever the case may have been in the past, in the end, he truly was the "teflon President" because of his relationship with them.

Fred Thompson already does this.

ANOTHER reason to vote for Fred is that he is the right person for the next eight years. He will stop the few bonehead things that President Bush started, and continue the many good things that W either started or continued.

He won't persecute gays or stop necessary abortions. But he won't tell a lie that says either practice is morally or scientifically free from ethical criticism.

Wrong is wrong and illegal entrance into this country is illegal. Fred believes this.

Socialism is not the answer and the Progressives new-found Economic Fascism is only a soiled bandage over arguably difficult economic times for the middle class. Fred will deal with this assault on American jobs in an effective and meaningful way - not by reinstituting the use of the buggy whip, but by encouraging laid-off buggy whip workers to re-tool themselves for a better career which looks to the future, rather than slavishly adhering to a failed isolationist-protectionist ideology.

Fred knows that "No Child Left Behind" is what happens when people try to legislate education, instead of letting effective, creative LOCAL ideas dictate needs and direction when it comes to education.

And there's another thing:
If Fred wins South Carolina, he could be seen as a conservative winner. He would then have a chance to win the nomination.

I know you Fred lovers are out there - you write to me every day. Don't allow yourselves to interpret Fred's laid-back personality as not having the "fire in the belly." He's from Tennessee, for God's sake! Cool beats phrenetic every time, in my book.

Look at what Fred stands for. Look at what Fred has done.

He's not perfect, but he's the best bet we've got for a truly conservative/libertarian future. Why? Because, above all, Fred is a realist. And as a realist, he knows that only Americans, not government, can fix America.

I hope I will be editorializing for Fred this fall. If not, at least I tried.
