Reid Reborn As Traitor..
July 10, 2007
(Somewhere in the Middle East) - I am now convinced that Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nevada)
is committing treason.
I do not say this lightly. For better or worse, the Senate majority leader is to be given
the benefit of some doubt because of his high position. But this latest whine about the
successful effort in Iraq, and in light of his actions the past few weeks, one can only
believe that he, and some in his party are giving the enemy aid and comfort.
Aid and comfort to the enemy is treason, by definition.
But I also think that the Bush strategy in Iraq, the troop increase which has been under
way for only two full weeks, may be working. Why else would
Harry Reid be panicking? If the War strategy isn't working, it will fail in a heap and
Reid and his people will be proven right.
His words are not the words of a man who is sure of his case. He seems to know that his view
of the Iraq conflict is deeply flawed and is trying to hurry events along before the
President's strategy works. He knows about the success in Anwar province. To run away, when
success in now actually within our grasp, is nothing less than cowardice.
I am not a fan of parsimoniousness. And Harry Reid, for all his protestation, is visibly
parsimonious. He hoards his goodness, afraid to spend any of it for the country's safety.
Now, besides being unctious as well, he has now proven himself treacherous.
There is only one punishment for treason - real treason. Alas, we are too weak to do
what needs doing.
