386-400 Pages - This Is A Law?
June 25, 2007
(Washington, DC) - The latest available copy of the immigration bill is the one which was dumped recently. A copy can be found by clicking here. It is 386 pages in pdf form and is an amazing document.
It's all you can find - the absolute up - to - date version is deep within the bowels of the Progressiveic
caucus with peeks by John McCain and a few other senators, and not available to the media.
To begin with, the enforcement part of the bill does not even have to be completed until 18 months
from passage. If it were to pass, right now, it would not have to be completed until some time
around January 2009, when a new President and a new Senate and a new House will step into office.
Since this is not a constitutional document, it can be completely reversed by a new set of players.
How could there be new players? A new voting body, 20 million strong, formerly illegals now legal
in the US. Voters with old European values: ask what the government can do for you. These voters
would be allowed in far in advance of the election or even the completion of any security measures,
which, in themselves, are left up to wide interpretation.
There is no mention of a bounty or penalty on the head of the illegals who don't come out and get their "Z" visa.
It doesn't say how the bill will be funded, only that the president should report on the funding.
And on and on..
It is written in purposefully obfuscatory language. Look at this from page 6:
(2) in subsection (b)-
(A) by redesignating paragraphs (1), (2), (3), and (4) as
paragraphs (2), (3), (4), and (5), respectively;
(B) by inserting before paragraph (2), as redesignated, the
following:
"(1) FENCING NEAR SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - In carrying out
subsection (a), the Secretary shall provide for the construction
along the 14 miles of the international land border of the United
States, starting at the Pacific Ocean and extending eastward, of
second and third fences, in addition to the existing reinforced
fence, and for roads between the fences.".
Now, I don't want to sound rude, but this is a Rube Goldberg form of
organization. The rules will be so lengthy and so un-uniformed that it
will be impossible to understand or carry out. FOLKS, please! A collect
for 14 miles of fence? The dang border is over 1,900 miles long! This is
an organized effort?
Ask yourself, how stupid do you think these Senators and Congressmen (Jim DeMint excepted)
think we are? Maybe they don't think we're stupid - maybe they think we're just
lazy. Think about it - how many of us voted this past time? How many of us
volunteered for a candidate we liked? How many of us didn't do anything because
we just didn't want to bother?
Immigration reform is a must. But this bill is a joke. And, yes, I DO have a better
plan.
And you, dear reader? What can you do? Call Jim DeMint and tell him you support him. Take the time to
call your congressman and tell him that this bill sucks.
Especially all my African-American friends. You have given my friend, Jim Clyburn, a pass
for way too long. Make him stand up for our State against the suckups in his party!
We're talking about YOUR job pool, too, which is getting smaller and
smaller in the Midlands, thanks to illegal aliens. And what do think will happen when they start voting,
legally for THEIR pet projects over YOURS? Hmmmmm? You think
there'll even be a special African-American constituent corridor for Jim to populate? You
won't even be the larger, favored minority!
Finally, we've all just learned that the dumbest part of the John McCain Russ Feingold
anti-free speech law has been killed by the Supreme Court. His and Ted Kennedy's immigration
bill is just as poorly written and should be killed before it sees the light of day.
We have a choice - we can do nothing now and then ALL have to come out to vote in a year and a half,
or, we can rattle the sabres now and continue to be lazy. Frankly, I think we should rattle now and
vote, too.
