Two years ago this week, we started SwampfoxNews.com. But that's not the subject of this editorial. Not Really. Two years ago, we were dealing with why the Israelis should not withdraw from ANY of their territory, no matter what the reward.
At that time, we noticed that there has never been a successful negotiation for peace that has not been backed up by a darned good whuppin'. Robert Heinlein, the great science fiction writer and randy dude, had said it best in his book, Starship Troopers.
Well, here we are again, two years later: same deal. Israel withdrew from most of the territories it had promised to. And the Arabs are still blowing them up. The U.N. is still being used as a shill for militant muslims. The U.S. is still, Israel's only real friend. And here we are, still warning about Shiias and why they can't be trusted.
Plus ça change . . .
Two years ago, this week, the government was saying they would get a handle on web ID theft. This week, eWeek.com published an article revealing that no matter how unhappy the President gets (any President), no computer wiz has stepped forward to deliver the magic bullet. The way the internet currently works, it's basically Swiss cheese for those who are favorite targets of terrorists and geeks. Only those of us who pay big bucks to bigger geeks can rest easy.
As if to prove this, one of our contacts showed us that if you use the online US websites to find a Federal job, and
you give them your email address, you will get a huge influx of offensive pornography offers. Using this geeks smarts, we set up a fake email account and used a volunteer's social security number to begin applying for jobs at federal job sites. Within
fifteen minutes, there were, in this account, thirty five different pornography offers with such subject lines as Aamazing donkeey fun with CCCOedS!
I kid you not.
Two years ago this week, NBC was coloring the news about the same way as they do today. So is ABC, and CNN. Fox News Channel is still number one and growing. Even CBS with Katie Couric is just as dishonest as it was with Dan "we lost the Tet offensive" Rather.
Two years ago this week, and this week, a mother murders her children. A less-than-a-man murders his wife. The Parisians are obnoxious cowards and fools while the rest of France remains wonderful and libertarian. Gas costs too much. The Episcopal Church is yet becoming a well-toasted, ill-attended cinder. Science continues to prove that homosexuality is not inherited. Sen. Arlen Specter of PA is still a cheesy moron.
Me? I've decided to go back to school and teach. Like my father and mother and their fathers and mothers, etc. But I'm not giving up the fox. So you lookalike websites will just have to wait.
