Why Thomas . . .

June 24, 2006

As I said before, Thomas Ravenel will make the best money-man for the state. Greg Ryberg is a nice guy and is very savvy about money, too, but he doesn't know how to show people what he's doing in a simple way. That was his unfortunate flaw. Thomas, on the other hand, CAN. Not because the subject is simple, either. But because he can tell you in a simple explanation.

I read in another publication somewhere that Rick Quinn would have been a good choice. I also read that Willis would have been good too. Maybe so, but I don't know them and they've never bothered to make themselves known. Just running ads doesn't count.

I do know that Rick Quinn is well known political circles. So, if he's well known in politics and not well known anywhere else, that tells me that this is the forefront of his interest. Would politics come before the unknown masses of just plain folks? Don't know him well enough to say yes or no.

Thomas Ravenel comes from good stock and I know him. I know he thought well of Greg but thought he could do a better job. Thomas really has a lot in common with Ronaldus Magnus. He believes in the eventual common sense of the people. He believes that it really is OUR money. And he believes in the wonder and beauty and miracle that is South Carolina. He also knows how to count.

So that's it. A businessman who knows how to express himself simply, who believes in "we the people," who knows how to count OUR money, and who believes it really IS our money.

He's the guy I voted for Tuesday. Hope you took the time to vote, too.
