WHAT'S IN A NAME?

What does it take to be a traitor?

I don't ask this question to be outrageous. I'd really like to know. I'm not talking about Ward Churchill, the not-Native American lunatic at UC. He's just plain crazy. Now you could argue over whether or not he should be confined to an insane asylum, but if that's the case, then half the people in New England or Los Angeles would qualify.

Let's talk, instead about those people who purport to enjoy the wonder of this country and yet stab it in the back, every chance they get.

It's a lot like the story of the lazy servant. One day, he didn't really finish his chores before knocking off. He did everything he was supposed to, but he didn't do it very well. As the weeks went by, he did less and less until one day, he didn't do anything at all. And finally, he got fired. He was outraged. Why? because he had been allowed to get away with it for so long, he thought he was doing a good job.

This is, in my mind, a lot like what has happened with the radical left. They have gone unchallenged for so long, living in their little worlds of unreality that they actually think that aiding and abbetting terrorism is an ok thing. Many of them simply do not know that they are doing something that, in any other century, would have gotten them exiled forever.

       But you know who's fault it is? - wait for it - . . . . ours.

WE are the ones who let them get away with it. All that's happening is that we are reaping what WE sowed. It was easier to go along and get along. Now, many on the left, who have not been held accountable, believe they are patriots by being traitors.

What's the solution? Mine would be to do just what that judge did to that lawyer who passed along terrorist info from her client in jail.

Why? What did she do? Well, not to put too fine a point on it, she's a traitor. She may NOT know that she is one. But she is one. No way around it.

We all have to be stronger.
